Look what we have here!

It’s a gigantic shawl!

For reference, that cardboard cutting mat I have it laid out on is approximately 70″ by 38″, the marked area is 68″x36″. Do you like my creative extensions? Hahaha. If you can’t make it out, I had to take a couple of pieces of cardboard to extend my workspace and weight them down with some of Chris’s heavy geek math and computer books.

I’m pretty darned thrilled with how it turned out! It’s so soft and I’m just floored by what the blocking process did. I forgot to take a picture of it before I blocked it, but the difference is just incredible.

I’ve got some more of this yarn in a chocolate brown, and I think I’m going to make the Leaf Lace Shawl for myself. Right after I finish the Peace Shawl that I started in May or June of 2004, which I’m going to go dig out as soon as Arlo is out of my hair. Hopefully I can find both project and pattern and figure out where the heck I *am* in the pattern!

I want to talk about blocking lace, but I just don’t have my wits about me enough at the moment to come up with anything remotely resembling coherence. Suffice it to say that the process of blocking amazes me!
